Historical Fiction Memories of December 7th 1941
Historical fiction seems to bring out coincidental memories of December 7th as it bounces in and out of my life I wanted to share a short story about “My Memories of December 7th 1941” to all who may venture on my website and read my blog. This story can be found in my book, Gibbon’s Secrets. My family was enjoying a Sunday chicken dinner with the neighbors when the news of Japan attacking Pearl Harbor came on the radio. Their son was home on leave from the Navy and his ship, the USS Arizona, was sunk in Pearl Harbor on the fateful day. Another December 7th of interest is found in my book Back in the Day – I graduated in the top ten in my class becoming an AKAN (Aviation Storekeeper Airman) on December 7, 1951; just ten years to the day from the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor!
